Demonstration Rose Bed

The Demonstration Rose Bed was created to show the public that florist roses found in a flower shop or flower stand are not the only type of roses out there.

This demonstration bed contains examples of four major classes of roses: Shrub, Grandiflora,

Hybrid Tea, and Floribunda.  The roses in this bed were selected by members of the Rose Society of Glendale for their beauty and ease of care.

The City of Glendale purchased the roses, which were then planted by staff of the Glendale Parks Department.

These four classes of roses, along with climbers, are the ones most commonly found at

local nurseries.  It is hoped that the examples in this bed will help park visitors to choose roses

for their own gardens.
